Sustainability represents an integral part of our work. Our coffee comes from Rainforest Alliance-certified farms, where social, environmental and economic responsibility come first. Our coffee capsules are made from renewable raw materials – based on tall oil, a natural by-product of wood processing. In this way, we reduce the consumption of fossil resources without compromising on quality or flavour. Our machines are also among the most energy-efficient on the market. The automatic stand-by mode and short heat-up time reduce power usage by up to 40%.
The mass balance approach has been designed to trace the flow of materials through a complex value chain. Since bio-based feedstocks are blended in the manufacturing complex, physical segregation of bio-based content is often practically and economically infeasible. The mass balance approach makes it possible to track the amount and sustainability characteristics of bio-based material in the value chain and attribute it based on verifiable bookkeeping.
